Shred For Mikey Fundraiser

To All our friends,

If you are reading this email, chances are, you have made a tremendous difference in the life of Michael Ryan, either through your generous past donations or your outpouring of love and support. For many of you, it was BOTH, love and generosity, and for others, this might be the first time you are hearing of Michaels’ incredible journey.  For those of you, who might not be familiar with Michael’s story, 2 words can summarize it best, Strength and Determination. Michael sustained a paralyzing snowboarding injury last year, and has spent the past 16 months determined to beat the odds and improve his chances of walking again. Through the generous donations and loving support from his close family and friends, Michael has traveled extensively to physical therapy, including a 2 week trip to California, visiting Project Walk, a world renowned spinal cord injury recovery center. Amazingly, Michael has kept upbeat and optimistic through this whole ordeal and has given us all a new perspective on life. He has certainly been an inspiration to so many people who have learned of his ordeal, has he refuses to dwell on his temporary disability, but rather focus on his new found abilities.

Unfortunately, Michael’s battle to overcome his injury can not be fought with love and prayers alone, as he would have certainly been walking by now. Terms such as insurance, medical bills, not covered,  denials, pre-approved, doctor visits, case mangers, bone density, infections, IC, atrophy, etc. etc., have now risen to the top of his vocabulary list. In addition to the medical obstacles he must over come, the financial obstacles are just as challenging. Unfortunately, to give Michael the best medical care and continued physical therapy treatments, a fundraiser is needed to assure he can continue on his long journey.  We certainly hope you can help.

A unique fundraiser idea was created, which allows the participants to enjoy a truly unique, living piece of art that will live for on for years.. With this piece of art, will undoubtedly come the inevitable question by friends and neighbors, “Where did you get that”?  This question is obviously the spoke that will keep the “Shred for Mikey” fundraiser wheel in motion, as Michael’s ordeal will be shared amongst other family and friends. This living art is actual Topiary plantings, ideal accents for your home, garden or business. Please take a peek at the many different animals, planters and sculptures available for your garden oasis. This will certainly be the focal point of any home garden enthusiast, as you turn your mundane garden into a whimsical “gardenscape”. You will truly be the envy of all fellow gardeners in your neighborhood.

All surplus proceeds from the sale of each art piece will be donated to the Shed For Mikey fund. Please take a moment to look at the different art pieces, whether it be the crown jewel of your own garden, or a wonderful gift for a friend, this will be a gift or purchase that will have profound impact on more then one person. Each purchase or donation, will allow Michael to get closer to his ultimate goal, one step at a time.
